Privacy Policy

MedScenario ("we", "the app") helps medical students and professionals practice Italian. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. We collect the minimum needed to run the product.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and authentication provider (email, Apple, or Google). No password is stored by us — authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
• Learning data: your chosen native language, level, scenario progress, scores, saved vocabulary, streak, and XP.
• Your submitted scenario responses, which are sent to our evaluation service to generate feedback.
• A device push token (if you enable notifications) and timezone, used only to schedule reminders in your local time.

What we do NOT collect

• No location, contacts, photos, or biometrics.
• No advertising identifiers. We do not run ads.
• No analytics on individual message content. Our analytics record only a fixed whitelist of product events (e.g. scenario started, scenario completed) with zero personally identifying content.

How your responses are evaluated

When you submit a response in a scenario, the text is sent to an AI evaluation service (OpenAI) through our servers to score grammar, vocabulary, register, and completeness. Evaluation runs server-side; the AI provider's API key is never present in the app.

Data retention

• Message content: retained 30 days, then deleted.
• Evaluation results (scores, not raw content): retained up to 2 years for progress history.
• Account data: kept until you delete your account.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app (Settings → Delete account) or via the account deletion page. Deletion is permanent and cascades across all your stored data.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@medscenario.com to exercise these rights.

Children

MedScenario is intended for adult medical students and professionals. It is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect.
